Therapy for
Intergenerational Trauma & Somatic Healing
Online therapy supporting BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. Serving individuals, couples/relationships, and families across California, Washington, and Illinois.
Areas of Specialization
-

Intergenerational Trauma
Heal patterns passed down through generations. I help clients understand how ancestral experiences, systemic oppression, and family histories shape present-day emotional and relational patterns. Together, we work to break cycles and create new legacies of resilience.
-

Body-Based Somatic Therapy
Trauma lives in the body. Through somatic awareness and body-centered techniques, we'll help your nervous system find regulation. Learn to reconnect with body sensations, release stored trauma, and develop skills that support lasting healing.
-

Attachment-Based Couples & Relationship Therapy
Navigate the complexities of intimate relationships in all their forms. Whether you're in a monogamous partnership, exploring ethical non-monogamy, or maintaining polyamorous relationships, I provide affirming support for communication, boundaries, jealousy, and building relationships that honor everyone's needs.
-

Identity, Gender & Cultural Healing
Navigate the complexities of identity, belonging, and marginalization. Therapy that honors your lived experience as a BIPOC, LGBTQ+, transgender, or gender-diverse folks. I provide gender-affirming care that addresses racism, discrimination, microaggressions, gender dysphoria, transition support, and the unique challenges of living at the intersection of multiple identities.
-

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Evidence-based trauma processing that helps your brain heal from distressing memories and experiences. EMDR is particularly effective for PTSD, anxiety, and traumatic memories, allowing you to process pain without having to talk through every detail.
-

Brainspotting
“Where you look affects how you feel.” A powerful, brain-based therapy that accesses and processes trauma stored deep in the subcortical brain. Using specific eye positions, we identify and release trauma, emotional blocks, and physical tension that traditional talk therapy may not reach.
Your story matters—and it deserves to be heard and honored.
Hi! My name is Mindy
I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and the founder of Release & Restore Therapy. I’m also a 500-hour certified trauma-informed yoga instructor specializing in nervous system regulation and restorative practices.
I support individuals, couples/relationships, and families in healing from intergenerational trauma through affirming and culturally responsive care. As a Narrative Therapist, I help clients explore the stories that have shaped them and reclaim the meanings that align with their values and lived experiences. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, using an attachment-based framework to help partners strengthen emotional connection, safety, and communication.
My therapeutic approach integrates EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic and body-based practices, spirituality, mindfulness, and body-centered healing. I practice through a social justice–oriented lens, recognizing that personal healing is deeply connected to the cultural, systemic, and historical forces that impact our lives.
It is important to me to center the experiences of BIPOC, Asian American, and LGBTQ+ communities, acknowledging how intergenerational trauma, systemic oppression, and identity-based stress shape mental and relational health. Whether you are navigating trauma, anxiety, or relationship challenges, therapy offers a safe and collaborative space to reconnect with your story, your body, and your whole self.

Trauma doesn't just live in memories—it lives in the body, presenting as dissociation, anxiety, chronic tension, hypervigilance, or feeling disconnected from physical sensations. Through body-centered therapy, we address both the psychological and physiological impacts of trauma, helping you feel safe and present in your body again.
